Saturday, December 23, 2017

At 13:16 hours, Stations 1 - New Church, 2 - Greenbackville, 4 - Atlantic, 20 - Oak Hall EMS, Worcester 100 - Pocomoke and 200 - Stockton were dispatched to a reported working residential structure fire at 4336 Horntown Circle in Horntown. Chief 2 (B. Outten) arrived on location confirming a working fire and established command. Engine 2-3 arrived first since the crew was escorting Santa Claus on our annual tour and began the initial attack. Once other apparatus arrived personnel utilized a second hand line to quickly contain and extinguish the fire. Unfortunately, the mobile home was heavily damaged and received excessive smoke and water damage throughout. The residence was occupied at the time of the fire and the Red Cross was notified to assist the occupants. Crews worked for over an hour to extinguish hot spots and to perform salvage and overhaul. All companies worked very well together on the scene. Additional units from Pocomoke City were on standby at Station 1 during the incident. ANEC was also on location.
